Becoming the Medicine |

August 1–5, 2025

This retreat isn’t about escaping life. It’s about returning to what’s real.

Feeling the pull for something more?

Do you long to reconnect—with yourself, nature, and a like-minded community in a meaningful way? Are you ready to release what no longer serves you and step into a journey of renewal, growth, and self-discovery? Do you crave an experience that blends adventure, spiritual healing, and deep personal connection?

If so, this retreat is calling you.

  • This retreat is a collaboration, with the land, with each other, and with a beautiful team of healers, artists, teachers, and space-holders. We believe that collective healing happens best when everyone brings their gifts to the circle.

We are honored to be co-creating with:

Erica & Randolph Harrison | Aging Heroes

We’re honored to be co-creating this retreat alongside Erica and Randolph Harrison, the visionaries behind Aging Heroes—a movement, a podcast, and a way of life rooted in presence, purpose, and positive transformation.

Randolph (Rusty) Harrison is an award-winning educator, author, and Gallup-certified Strengths Coach with a background in psychology and counseling. His unique gift is helping people untangle their inner narratives with curiosity and compassion. At the retreat, Rusty will be offering two powerful workshops:

    • Cultivating Optimism: A Cognitive + Embodied Approach

    • Unraveling Thought Loops: A Gentle Introduction to CBT

Erica Schwarting Harrison brings her soulful lens to the retreat, capturing the magic through photography while also offering pre- and post-retreat support as a certified Jungian Life Coach. With a background in fashion, design, and holistic wellness, Erica’s presence brings beauty, depth, and heart to every space she steps into.

Together, Erica and Rusty also host The Latitude Adjustment Podcast and embody the spirit of Aging Heroes: living fully, aging intentionally, and creating spaces where personal growth and community connection thrive.

Retreat attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with optional coaching support before and after the retreat, including 1:1 sessions, Clifton Strengths assessments.

Kiany Brown | Cacao Ceremony Guide

We are honored to welcome Kiany Brown, a medicine woman from the Caribbean region of Costa Rica, as part of our sacred circle for Becoming the Medicine.

Kiany’s path began with a deep awakening at age 16, guided by nature, sacred ceremony, and ancestral practices. She has walked with shamans from both Costa Rica and Mexico, immersing herself in the sacred teachings of temazcal, peyote, and other traditional healing modalities. Her work integrates metaphysics, meditation, and ancient spiritual therapies—creating a bridge between the seen and unseen, the physical and spiritual.

With warmth, wisdom, and grounded presence, Kiany offers spaces that open the heart, restore balance, and reconnect each person to their deeper essence. At this retreat, she will be holding a sacred cacao ceremony—drawing from generations of tradition and deep reverence for the plant spirit.

Her mission is clear: to help others heal, remember, and return home to themselves.

    • This is the rhythm we’re holding for our days together.

      Not rigid, but intentional.

      Not packed, but potent.

And always open to what the land, the group, and the mystery may ask of us.

Each morning will begin barefoot in the sand, with sunrise Pranayama, lymphatic self-massage, and the option to dip into the Caribbean Sea. We’ll return to warm lemon salt water and nourishing jungle meals, arriving in our bodies and our breath before the day unfolds.

The flow of the week will include:

    – A morning visit to the vibrant Puerto Viejo Farmers Market, with space to wander, connect with local culture, and feel into the land and people. (This place holds my dream for a future intentional community—and I want you to feel why.)

    – Two transformational workshops led by Randolph Harrison of Aging Heroes:

    • Cultivating Optimism: A Cognitive + Embodied Approach

    • Unraveling Thought Loops: A Gentle Introduction to CBT

    – A 3-hour Cacao Ceremony guided by Kiany Brown, a local medicine woman from the Caribbean of Costa Rica

    – Waterfall hike & jungle immersion (visiting 2–3 sacred waterfalls)

    – Fire Ceremony/Burning Ceremony

    – Two Sound Immersion sessions—one under the jungle canopy, one beside the sea

    – Daily journaling, rest, hammock-swinging, and inner quiet

    – Energetic Protection Workshop – practical tools for emotional and spiritual boundaries

    • There’s structure. There’s flow.

There’s breath, ritual, and rest woven throughout.

      And… there’s still room for co-creation.

If you’re feeling called to guide within the container, we offer a $200 retreat discount per workshop facilitated. Opportunities currently open:

      – Two Creative Workshops (art, storytelling, ritual, writing—whatever is lighting you up)

      – Energetic Protection Workshop (nervous system tools, spiritual shielding, or energetic boundaries)

      – Sound Immersion Facilitator (for both jungle + ocean nights)

      – Fire Ceremony Guide (intentional space-holding and symbolic release)

This retreat is screen-free to encourage true presence and connection. There will be designated times to check in with loved ones, but the focus is on deep rest and renewal.
