Your journey into healing and transformation is already unfolding. Whether you’re seeking deeper connection, personal growth, or stillness.

Trust that you’re in the right place!

Welcome! I’m Charleen, an Integrative Wellness Guide. I help individuals reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and create balance through holistic healing—because true transformation happens in community, in shared spaces where we witness and support each other’s growth.

  • Born and raised in sunny Southern California, I spent my early years exploring beaches and the Redwood forests with my family before moving to the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina at age 10. Growing up surrounded by nature instilled in me a deep love for adventure, connection, and healing in the natural world—values that continue to shape my work today.

  • In my twenties, I was constantly exploring, but at 28, I made the life-changing decision to get sober. This marked the beginning of a profound healing journey, one that deepened when my mother fell seriously ill. In a matter of days, I lost my mother and sister. Over the next two years, I lost my grandmother and aunt—four of the most powerful women in my life. Their passing became the catalyst for my spiritual awakening, pushing me to seek meaning, healing, and a deeper understanding of my purpose.

“Healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about remembering who we were before the world told us who to be.”

  • I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a concentration in Substance Abuse from Lees-McRae College, graduating with honors. My studies in counseling, case management, and psychology laid the foundation for my work in supporting others through transformation.

I became involved in wilderness leadership programs, guiding youth and adults through adventure-based experiences like rock climbing, kayaking, and extended expeditions in places like Yosemite. These years taught me the power of trust, resilience, and stepping beyond our comfort zones. I spent over a decade facilitating team-building, leadership development, and aerial course trainings, witnessing firsthand how deep healing can happen when we push past our perceived limits.

After college, I embarked on a solo healing journey across Southeast Asia, beginning in India, where I completed a 2-month, 500-hour intensive Hatha Yoga Teacher Training. This immersion in Karma Yoga (the yoga of service) shifted my perspective on healing—it was no longer just personal; it was something I felt called to share. I continued traveling through Bali, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Denmark, expanding my spiritual toolkit and gaining a deeper understanding of the human experience, energy healing, and holistic wellness.

Upon returning to the U.S., I entered a completely different world—Zipline/Treehouse and adventure playground construction. For four years, I lived on the road out of a van, working with my hands, traveling with my dog, and experiencing the diverse landscapes and communities across the country. It was a period of hard work, self-sufficiency, and deep personal reflection, all leading up to the next chapter of my life: motherhood.

  • Becoming a mother to my two-year-old twins has been my most profound transformation yet. Parenthood has been a mirror—reflecting both the deepest love I’ve ever known and the unhealed parts of myself that I didn’t even realize were still there.

Becoming a mother to my two-year-old twins has been my most profound transformation yet. Parenthood has been a mirror—reflecting both the deepest love I’ve ever known and the unhealed parts of myself that I didn’t even realize were still there.

“Even now, at 41, I am still doing the work. Shadow work, self-reflection, and healing aren’t things we ‘complete’—they evolve as we do.”

Through this ongoing work, I’ve realized that healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about remembering who we were before the world told us who to be.

This is why I do what I do. Because healing is not just for us—it’s for the generations before us, the ones we are raising, and the ones still to come.

  • Through Satsang Project and my work as an Integrative Wellness Guide, I create sacred spaces for deep healing, personal transformation, and alignment—always with the understanding that we heal best in community. Whether through retreats, one-on-one guidance, or holistic lifestyle shifts, my goal is to support you on your path to self-discovery and wellness, not in isolation, but together.

A Dream in the Making

Satsang Project has been a dream in the making for years—a space where people can come together to heal, connect, and grow. Now, it’s coming to life as a movement rooted in spirituality, nature, and meaningful connection.

But this is only the beginning. The long-term vision for Satsang Project is to create an intentional community—a sacred space for healing and transformation, where people can retreat, gather, and live in alignment with nature and each other. While the physical space is still unfolding, the community is already here. Through retreats, holistic wellness offerings, and shared experiences, we are building something greater than ourselves.

What is Satsang Project?

The word Satsang comes from Sanskrit, meaning “a gathering in truth.” It’s about coming together in a sacred space to share wisdom, experiences, and healing.

Satsang Project is a reflection of this philosophy—a space where we:

  • Connect deeply with ourselves and each other

  • Engage in open, honest conversations about healing, growth, and transformation

  • Practice intentional rituals and holistic wellness

  • Hold space for one another’s journeys

At its core, Satsang Project is about healing each other through Satsang—through truth, presence, and the power of shared experience. It’s not just about learning—it’s about embodying healing, together.

The Heart of Satsang Project

Satsang Project is rooted in connection, healing, and personal growth, creating a space where individuals can come together to support and uplift one another. Guided by our core values, we strive to live with intention, trust the journey, and embrace transformation as a community.

Together, these core values form the foundation of Satsang Project’s culture and mission. They guide how we interact, grow, and welcome others into the community. By sharing these values on our website, we invite visitors to feel the warmth of our circle and understand the heart behind everything we do – inspiring them to join us on this journey of healing, connection, and growth.

  • Community is at the heart of Satsang Project. We believe that healing happens when we come together – sharing our stories, listening without judgment, and lifting each other up. Whether through group circles, collaborative projects, or simply holding space for one another, our community creates a safe haven for growth and transformation. Challenges feel lighter when faced together, and successes are sweeter when celebrated as a group.

  • Our bond with the Earth is a source of inspiration and strength. We honor the natural world by spending time outdoors, practicing sustainability, and learning from nature’s wisdom. Whether it’s meditating under an open sky or gardening together, these experiences remind us that we are deeply connected to something greater than ourselves. By grounding ourselves in the rhythms of the Earth, we find balance, belonging, and motivation to care for our world.

  • For us, living intentionally means living on purpose and with love. In everything we do – from planning community gatherings to our everyday choices – we strive to act with clear intention guided by compassion. This value encourages each person to listen to their inner voice, the wisdom of the heart, when making decisions. By living authentically and kindly, we foster an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

  • We’ve learned to trust the journey of growth, even when the path is uncertain. Every experience, easy or challenging, carries a lesson. Instead of rushing outcomes, we surrender to the process, allowing growth to unfold at its own pace. This mindset reminds us to let go of control and have faith. In our community, we often find that when we trust the process, we grow in ways we never imagined – each step bringing us closer to our true selves.

  • In a busy world, we embrace the power of presence. We practice mindfulness – through meditation, breathwork, or simply giving our full attention in conversation – to fully experience each moment. By slowing down and savoring now, we deepen our connection to ourselves and each other. This value is a gentle reminder to be here and now, because it’s in these mindful moments that we find peace, insight, and genuine connection.

Our Community

“Oh Panama. You were so good to me! I experienced love, healing, excitement, and amazement. I met some of the most amazing souls whom I felt like I had known forever. There was such a safe space that I was able to be vulnerable as well as encouraging and helpful. I felt honored to share my story. I had intentions when I went to leave my trauma there and to step out of my comfort zone. Let me tell y'all how that went! I cried, I shared, I laughed and I left a piece of me there. I burned things to forget the pain of my past and I refuse to let my trauma rule me anymore! It felt like a weight was lifted from my heart. The most beautiful souls held me while I cried, while I expressed some of my darkest emotions, and waited until it passed to encourage me. Let's talk about my firsts while there!! I swam in the ocean at night in my bra and panties bc we made a split decision to try to see the bioluminescent algae! It was so cool!! I haven't swam in the ocean over my head since I was 14 and got stung by a man-of-war at Myrtle Beach. I tried sushi and loved it!!  And it was completely raw with raw onions! I really hate onions raw, I thought! I ate a raw onion on my burger and it was good! I don't eat onions at all unless they're well done! I tried so many different fruits I don't know the name of with all different textures. I learned to paddleboard and was actually really good at it for my first time.  I started on my knees and was able to stand up in just a few minutes! I learned to float for the FIRST time in my life!  My problem was I couldn't relax enough and I was able to finally calm my breath and I did it! I trusted Charleen's judgment to travel across the world with 9 strangers I didn't know and had never met!  I had never done yoga and I was actually looking like a pro according to everyone else! I loved it! And I want to start doing it on my own as well. This trip was like no other and I'm so grateful my uncle made this possible. I learned so much about myself and how to treat others in hard times. I'm pretty good at that anyway, but this just magnified it. The jungle soothed my soul like no forest ever has and I'm so humbled I got to share this experience with some lovely ladies and one gentleman who put up with us all and did a great job doing so. Gratitude and humbleness have taken me so very far and just magnified the last 4 years. I can't wait to see what else the future holds for me!!!!”
